The Web Scraping Club in 2026
What to expect from The Web Scraping Club during the new year coming
You might have noticed that the frequency of my posts in this newsletter dropped by the end of October. As mentioned in a previous post, my family has grown, and my workload has peaked, so 24 hours a day were not enough.
Things are getting better now, the equilibrium has been found, and we’re getting ready to kick off a 2026 full of scraping insights.
I want to thank Antonello Zanini and Federico Trotta for their great work during these months and all of you 6500+ subscribers who decided to read this publication.
Let’s see a brief roadmap for the next year.
Sponsorships
During 2025, we kicked off a sponsorship program. It was not an easy choice, but I realized that if I wanted to grow this newsletter, I would need some extra money that the paid subscriptions are not providing.
To be completely transparent, running this newsletter costs me around 3-4 k EUR a month: authors, tools, and AI subscriptions are not free. This is way more than the income from paid subscriptions.
So sponsors are keeping the newsletter alive, and I’m trying to give them the best value without compromising the integrity of the core values of this space:
No editorial interference, as all the opinions expressed on these pages are our own and not influenced by any level of sponsorship
Clear separation between sponsors and content so readers are not misled by posts.
At the same time, if the sponsors are relevant to the article's topic, both readers and the brand benefit. For this reason, I decided to modify the sponsorship plans (especially the gold one) to put sponsors in the proper context for the articles.
If you’re interested in this and want to know more about the sponsorship opportunities, you can find more information on this page.
New tools
In 2025, I launched the Proxy Price Benchmark, a tool for comparing proxy pricing plans and identifying the option that best fits your needs. At the moment, I’m building a small team to delegate data management (again, more costs), so the prices are more up-to-date. As soon as this process ends, a new set of tools will be rolled out in 2026.
The first will be ScrapeAdvisor, a benchmark tool for different families of scraping tools, from web unblockers to scraping APIs. It’s currently on hold, but I hope it will be ready in the next few weeks.
Some other tools are planned for the second half of the year, but I’ll share more details as we approach their launch.
Content and videos
The content you’ll find in this newsletter in 2026 will be the usual one you love to read: anti-bot bypassing, scraping techniques, and leveraging AI to improve data collection and quality.
Same for the YouTube channel: it still hasn’t taken off, but I’m willing to resume my interview series. I have some guests in mind, but please let me know who you’d like to see.
This is all for my end-of-year update. I hope you’re spending a good holiday season and wish you the best for 2026.
Life is great.
Pier
